Hi! My name is Monica Colias. I’m a graphic artist based in Leiden, the Netherlands.
After 20 years as a graphic designer for Spanish governmental organisations and museums in Madrid, I moved to the Netherlands in 2017. Since then, I have worked as a senior graphic and visual designer for private companies, and in 2021, I took the leap into freelancing.
As a designer, I specialise in functional and illustrative design, helping businesses communicate their ideas clearly and creatively through editorial design, infographics, guidelines, instructional books, and packaging. My work not only creates visual impact but also brings your message to life and connects with your audience in a meaningful way.
My main client is the fashion brand Zara. I combine the practical and strategic design I do for them with my illustrations and paintings, following my passion for music, films, and literature.
As an artist, I bring a unique creative perspective to my compositions, influenced by my graphic design background and my love for storytelling. My brave, intriguing art immerses viewers in narratives that evoke emotion and curiosity—an approach that also enriches my graphic design, making it more expressive and engaging.
